Thomas Vithayathil Antony Nainan — widely referred to as Nainan Thomas within the JKS Karate community — has dedicated his career to advancing traditional Shotokan Karate across the Gulf and the Indian subcontinent.
A 5th Dan (Godan) Black Belt certified by JKS Japan, he holds the federation's Instructor C, Examiner C, and Judge C qualifications — recognised credentials issued from the federation's headquarters in Tokyo that authorise him to teach, grade, and officiate within the international JKS framework.
He is also the founder of the Shaolin Health and Fitness School in Kuwait. Under his leadership, JKS Kuwait has grown into a premier karate academy serving students of all ages, while JKS India Shaolin Academy continues to expand its branch network across India.
His coaching philosophy centres on discipline, respect, and self-mastery — values he regards as the true foundation of karate-do, beyond technique alone.
